Nature Journaling

  • Northwestern REC Community Forest 22862 Wenner Dr Cambridge Springs, PA 16403 US (map)

Celebrate the warmer weather (Finally!) and escape from the drama of modern life by spending time with nature and a notebook. Now is the perfect time to come watch, explore, and record what you observe by journaling, drawing or some other way that speaks to you. Richard Gosnell, Kripalu Mindful Outdoor Guide and astronomy lecturer, will lead this monthly discovery session over the course of the year.  Each month we will learn some basic tools of mindfulness and observation to connect with and explore the more than human world.  The practice of observing and recording nature will encourage a deeper connection with the outdoors; relax an overactive mind; and enhance greater sensitivity to the patterns of nature.  Come to as many sessions as you are able.

Please arrive 10 minutes early to complete registration.  Park in the cul-de-sac at the end of Wenner Drive. Open to all levels of experience. Bring a waterproof seat, notebook, and pencil. Dress for the weather. Must be 18 to attend unless accompanied by a parent. Cost: Your first session is free then $10 per session. Rain date: Saturday, June 21st at 9:00 am. No pets.
