Nature Journaling

  • Northwestern REC Community Forest 22862 Wenner Dr Cambridge Springs, PA 16403 US (map)

Celebrate the summer solstice by spending time with wildlife and the Sun. Now is the perfect time to come watch, explore, and record what you observe by journaling, drawing or some other way that speaks to you. Richard Gosnell, Kripalu Mindful Outdoor Guide and astronomy lecturer, will lead this monthly discovery session over the course of the year.  Each month we will learn some basic tools of mindfulness and observation to connect with and explore the more than human world.  This month we will spend time with nature on the ground and then do some solar observing with a filtered telescope. Solar filter glasses provided.

Please arrive 10 minutes early to complete registration.  Park in the cul-de-sac at the end of Wenner Drive. Open to all levels of experience. Bring a waterproof seat, notebook, and pencil. Dress for the weather. Cost: Donations appreciated.
